Dr. Andy Nguyen is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in California. He graduated with Honors in Chemistry from Stanford University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then completed a Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health before earning his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Harvard Medical School. During his time at Harvard Medical School, he served as a member of the Main Admissions Committee and the Aesculapian Club.
Dr. Nguyen completed a preliminary medicine internship at Harvard Medical School and Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. He continued his medical training as a resident physician in dermatology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York, NY, where he was elected and served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Nguyen has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving underserved communities through extensive service, leadership, and legislative advocacy. He is a certified medical Spanish interpreter and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology’s Expert Resource Group on LGBT/Sexual and Gender Minority Health.
His academic work has been published in textbooks and peer-reviewed medical journals, with a focus on gender-affirming care, sexual and gender minority health disparities, and HPV-related diseases and malignancies. Dr. Nguyen is involved in several faith-based communities, practices Tai Chi, and studies Vietnamese language and cooking. As a Graduate Coach, Dr. Nguyen draws upon his diverse experiences in medicine, advocacy, and education to guide students through the complex admissions processes for graduate and medical school.
