Angela Tang is a Graduate Coach with InGenius prep based in Washington, D.C. Angela received her BA in Art History and Practice from Williams College, where her areas of study were focused on Asian Art and printmaking. Upon graduating, she received a teaching fellowship to China, and she spent one year in Beijing teaching high school seniors humanities courses and mentoring them on their college application process.
After returning to the States, Angela has been involved in Asian American activist organizing. She has worked as an art therapist in Chinatown, New York, and written press releases for the Asian American Journalists Association bringing more representation to Asian American stories and news. Angela draws from experiences in her work and her personal projects, helping to amplify her students’ stories and highlight their accomplishments. Having excelled at writing in her career, she brings these well-honed skills to her students’ counseling processes.
Angela enjoys advising students and mentoring them to find the right fit for their own individual talents. She has several years of experience advising high school students on their college process, particularly enjoying the the revision process of their personal statements. Angela’s keen eye for profile development and results-focused approach makes her a great counselor for students who focus on being driven and efficient in their work.
