Hello! I’m Cameron, a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Before transferring to Yale University in 2019 to complete my BA in Philosophy, I studied for two years at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. During that time, I served as a Consultant in Furman’s Writing & Media Lab where I coached peers from a diverse range of abilities and disciplines on an array of college-level writing projects. Helping fellow students refine their writing skills and unleash their personal flair was a highlight of my undergraduate experience—and ignited my passion for peer education.
My own academic journey has been fairly nontraditional, so I understand firsthand the importance of crafting a college application that leverages your unique perspective and talents and displays your personality in a compelling way. I am excited to help you choose and showcase compelling extracurricular opportunities, to guide you through college-selection process, and to share writing tips that helped me gain admission to Stanford and Yale in their competitive transfer round.
Besides my academic pursuits, I am an avid classical violinist. I am the former Associate Concertmaster of a professional symphony, have appeared as soloist with several orchestras, and currently perform with Tensegrity, an award-winning string quartet with three of my younger siblings. And lately, I have been moonlighting as a studio musician and have recorded for tracks by such artists as John Leventhal and Phillip Phillips.
In my spare time, you might find me chortling over a P.G. Wodehouse golf short story, maintaining my 400-something-day-long Duolingo streak, or using quirky words like ‘geezer’ and ‘squeegee’ at the slightest pretext.
