Hello! I am a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, located in Hangzhou, China and Shanghai, China.
I graduated from Oberlin College with a double degree in Anthropology and Cinema Studies. Later, I earned a master’s degree in Experimental Humanities and Social Engagement from NYU, where I honed my skills in documentary production and media literacy education. For the past three years, I have been offering courses on creative writing and media literacy to students across China, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds.
Following my graduation from NYU, I worked on several short documentaries covering a diverse range of topics in the United States, including labor rights, social movements, and medical care. Later, I worked for the FCC promoting the Federal Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides affordable internet access to underprivileged demographics in the US.
My experience as a filmmaker, educator, public service worker, and activist has given me a deep understanding of social and cultural issues worldwide. My expertise in filmmaking, anthropology, education, and media studies allows me to approach nuanced social topics from a variety of perspectives.
As a Graduate Coach and seasoned media literacy educator, I am committed to helping students navigate the complex and ever-changing world of higher education. My greatest strength is empathy, and I am dedicated to helping you find your voice, develop critical thinking skills, and craft a compelling application that showcases your unique strengths and potential, regardless of your background or interests.
Outside of work, I’m a photography enthusiast and a small YouTuber who makes video essays from time to time. I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your full potential!
