Hello! My name is Chiamaka (Amaka). Currently a rising fourth year at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. I immigrated from Nigeria to the United States for college and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.Sc. in Biology from SUNY Geneseo. There I was chosen to represent Geneseo’s graduating class as the commencement speaker. I have remained curious through medical school, participating in both clinical and translational research with varying peer-reviewed publications.
I am a member of the Dartmouth Medical School admissions committee where I have participated in the interview and candidate selection process. I love to teach and have mentored numerous students through the college and medical school application process, specifically, in my role in the McGill Scholars program at Dartmouth College, working with the students of color collective at the Lebanon High School, and at InGenius Prep.
I was the public relations officer for the Dartmouth Student National Medical Association chapter and currently serves as the President for the dermatology interest group. I also enjoy traveling, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
My strengths are in my ability to work closely with mentees, helping strengthen their voice to tell their own unique stories. As a first-generation medical student, I am aware of the pitfalls in the medical school admissions process and I am committed to helping students personalize their strongest applications. At InGenius, I am committed to helping students with their school selection, primary and secondary applications, essay editing, and mock interviewing. I am excited to further my passion for mentee advocacy by supporting the goals and vision of my clients and helping them fashion the strongest application possible.
