Christian Loo is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep. He is also a PhD candidate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, he has developed new genomic technologies to uncover the origins of biological diversity and enable the next generation of precision diagnostics. His work has resulted in over ten peer-reviewed publications and earned national fellowship recognition from both the NIH and NSF. Originally from Southern California, Christian earned his BS in Biochemistry from California State University, Long Beach, where he graduated summa cum laude and received numerous top university honors.
Beyond the lab, Christian developed an analytical eye for biotech strategy through his consulting work with Penn Biotech Group, where he has led and contributed to projects for both early-stage startups and major pharmaceutical clients. These experiences have sharpened his ability to distill complex ideas and think critically about value, audience, and impact.
Christian’s most defining experiences have been in teaching and mentorship. For the past decade, he has helped students improve their academic performance and secure admission to elite graduate and professional programs, including top-ranked medical and PhD programs. The cornerstone of his approach is to meet students with warmth, patience, and clarity. He takes time to understand who they are and tailors his guidance to match their goals, strengths, and voice.
As a Graduate Coach, Christian brings this same blend of scientific rigor, strategic thinking, and compassionate coaching to every student he works with. He challenges them to dig deep, reflect honestly, and write with purpose so that their applications showcase their strongest, most authentic selves.
