Hi, I’m Christy! I’m a Graduate Coach at InGenius Prep and I received my JD from the University of Chicago Law School where I focused on international human rights and immigration law. I am currently a University of Chicago Public Interest Law Fellow at the Center for Law, Justice and Society (Dejusticia) in Bogotá, Colombia. During law school, I did internships with the Constitutional Court of Colombia, the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice, and the American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) Immigrants’ Rights Project. At the Law School’s Global Human Rights Clinic, I carried out projects studying the migrant wage gap and ways to advance gender equality through constitutional rights. I am also a Salzburg Cutler International Law Fellow.
Prior to law school, I was a Fulbright grantee, teaching English at a university in Colombia. I also spent time as a Critical Language Scholar in China. I graduated from Truman State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish with an emphasis in International Studies.
In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer and ultimate frisbee. I also have fun trying new restaurants and foods while abroad. Playing with my Australian Shepherd puppy, Geneva, is my favorite way to spend an afternoon.
