I have recently completed my PhD in Geography at the University of Sheffield. My research looked at the role of partnerships in delivering environmental benefits in UK farming. Prior to this, I was a Masters student at the University of Sheffield, where I studied MSc Environmental Change and International Development. I completed my Undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, where I studied BA (Hons) Geography. I have taught at both undergraduate level (as a workshop demonstrator, seminar tutor and examiner) to masters level (on an international development fieldclass). As part of this role I have also undergone Sheffield Teaching Assistant Training (studying different educational philosophies and practices) and have achieved Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) within the UK. Through my teaching and degree development, I have a good knowledge of the UK education system, and have helped many students with their UCAS applications. Most recently I worked with the UK’s number 1 A Level college to deliver a number of seminars related to university admissions and university life.
I am also presently a postgraduate fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS), which enables me to keep professionally developing through courses and information provided by the UK’s society for geographers, and share some of the latest research developments in Geography with my students. I was also chair for the Postgraduate Forum (PGF) at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS-IBG) during the 2017-2018 academic year, where I helped the RGS-IBG support postgraduate students nationally, and so have a good understanding of the Higher Education System.
I am enthusiastic and seek to share my passion of Geography with others, to enable them to succeed. I have a passion for both teaching and travel, and always seek out opportunities to learn and experience new things.
