Hello! I am a Subject Tutor with InGenius Prep, currently based in Boston, MA. For my undergraduate education, I attended Dartmouth College, where I majored in Comparative Literature and graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors. While at Dartmouth, I worked as a Drill Instructor in the Spanish Department, using the Rassias method, an individualized approach that aims to build fluency by focusing on verbal practice.
My teaching philosophy centers around engaging a student’s interests. How can we frame a homework problem or difficult concept around a student’s passions? How can we bring in outside resources (Youtube videos, supplemental readings, historical material) to excite the student? Certainly, not every step of the academic journey is thrilling, but I find that students not only invest more, but also learn better, when they can find some joy in the work.
I am currently pursuing my MFA in Playwriting at Boston University, and love learning about anything performing arts-related. In my free time, I enjoy writing plays, reading, cooking, and getting outdoors.
