Gabrielle Porter is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in New York City. Gabrielle earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and her BA in Economics from Spelman College, where she graduated summa cum laude and was awarded Best Thesis. Her career began in consumer goods brand management at Newell Brands, followed by a transformative role at Sanofi and a product manager position in the Commercial Tech division at Capital One. With professional experience spanning finance, health, and brand management, Gabrielle brings her industry expertise and insights into the higher education application process to her role guiding students as a Graduate Coach.
Gabrielle’s journey through the competitive 2+2 program at Harvard Business School, where she deferred her enrollment to gain full-time work experience, has refined her goals and solidified her expertise in product management. At HBS, she demonstrated leadership by organizing the NY Tech Trek, hosting panels for the African American Student Union Conference, and consulting for a Boston-area non-profit. Her involvement in student organizations, such as the Women’s Student Association and the General Management and Operations Club, has informed her approach to mentorship—advising students of various backgrounds as they navigate the undergraduate and business school admissions process.
As a Graduate Coach, Gabrielle believes in an open-minded approach, adapting to her mentees’ needs and contributing to their success and accomplishments with personalized guidance and a passion for development. Gabrielle brings enthusiasm and comprehensive guidance to her role in supporting students—helping them reach their goals and pursue their dreams in higher education.
