Hello! I’m Gloria Guo, the Bilingual Counselor at the InGenius Prep Shanghai office. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University. Previously, I worked in NYU’s admissions office where I communicated with hundreds of undergraduate applicants, helping them navigate program information, admissions processes, and answering their questions about university applications. I have a deep understanding of the American university application process and the challenges international students often face during their undergraduate applications.
Through collaborations with NYU’s admissions dean, admissions officers, professors, current students, and applicants, I discovered my passion for fostering student initiative and assisting them in exploring their interests. I am dedicated to helping more students gain admission to their dream schools. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about volunteer service and have contributed to a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing education and development issues among underprivileged children, providing academic and lifestyle support to local students.
As a team leader, I organized dozens of international school students in Shanghai to volunteer long-term at the hospital, such as assisting with vaccination during the COVID-19 pandemic and organizing compassionate arts activities for cancer patients. These experiences have equipped me with the skills to help high school students select high-quality and impactful volunteer activities and effectively organize and guide student involvement.
In my spare time, I enjoy music performance and have participated in the provincial competition of “The Voice of China”. I also have a passion for road trips, trying to discover more of the wonderful world along the way.
