Hello, I’m Jyothsna! I am a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, based in Oxford, United Kingdom. I completed my 5-year BA.LLB (Hons.) undergraduate law degree from NALSAR University of Hyderabad, India. I went on to study my masters at the University of Oxford, and earned a Distinction on the Bachelor of Civil Law in 2020. I am currently pursuing my D.Phil (Ph.D) in Law, at the University of Oxford. My research is situated in the areas of technology law, data protection, and intellectual property.
As a first-generation lawyer, I understand the importance of mentorship in the field of law, and have been actively engaged in mentoring my juniors and other students, by drawing from my experience. I was a deputy team leader and volunteer mentor with IDIA – a non-profit organisation that aims to increase diversity in law schools by increasing access to them. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Family Law, and enjoyed interacting with students within an academic setting.
During my undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies, I have been involved in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like mooting, interning and working with various kinds of legal organizations, attending workshops, working on research papers, and organising cultural festivals. I believe in the power of using one’s interests and experiences to build up a strong resume and application, which thereby demonstrates a person’s unique personality.
Besides the Law, I have a keen interest in music (having trained as a vocalist and a pianist), and love traveling to new places. I enjoy treks and hikes, and DIY activities like baking and knitting!
