About Marjotte Miles

Born in a French and English family in Paris, I moved to London in 2015 to study Art History as an undergraduate at the Courtauld Institute of Art before completing my Masters at Oxford University.

During both my degrees, I quickly noticed how my growing love and dedication for History of Art was partly due to the incredible teaching I was fortunate to receive at the Courtauld and at Oxford. I became increasingly aware of the importance of teaching as I wanted to be able to share my own knowledge and passion for the topic. Since, I have broadened my teaching experiences by working as an educator in UK museums, by tutoring languages and history of art to students with a wide variety of interests and academic ambition and by working as a Graduate Scholar in a UK college. Alongside teaching, I work as a part-time researcher and production associate for an Art History documentary company – inevitably tying back to education!

As a Master’s student at Oxford, I had the opportunity to present various academic papers at conferences, such the Global History Conference organized and funded by the Humboldt and Freie Universities in Berlin. Speaking at different academic conferences made me realise how much I enjoy sharing my passion, and this is a privilege I feel when teaching in a museum or one-to-one during tutorials.

Moving between Paris, Venice and London, I have worked for a number of cultural institutions such as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, as well as the Wallace Collection and the Design Museum in London.
