Hello! I am a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep. I was born in New York, grew up in Hong Kong, and then moved to New Jersey to complete my undergraduate degree at Princeton University. I graduated with a major in English and minors in Theater and Gender & Sexuality Studies.
After graduation, I moved to New York, where I started working as both an educator and a theater artist. I worked as a private tutor, standardized test prep teacher, theater instructor, and museum educator. I then discovered college applications consulting in 2017. Since then, I’ve counseled over 60 students from many different countries through every aspect of the application process: from initial brainstorming to crafting finalized essays, from formatting resumes to preparing for alumni interviews. My students have been accepted at many prestigious institutions, including Princeton, Yale, MIT, Brown, Vanderbilt, Stanford, UPenn, Rice, UMichigan, NYU, and UChicago.
I also completed a Masters degree in Advanced Theatre Practice at London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I founded a theatre company in London, which has since been selected as a finalist for the OffFest awards and received critical raves from publications like The Scotsman and Broadway World.
As an applications adviser, I focus on storytelling techniques that can help convey a student’s passions and personality to admissions officers within a brief word count. I love helping students find essay topics that they’re genuinely excited to explore in writing, so they can make the most of this long application process and find some joy in what can be a very stressful time.
I can’t wait to meet you and start our work together!
