Peter Simpson is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in New York. Peter is completing an international fellowship through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) where he researches knowledge transfer, innovation, and entrepreneurship in higher education. Prior to this, he earned his MA in International Education Policy from Teacher’s College at Columbia University and his BA in History and Africana Studies from Brown University. After graduating, Peter spent time as a research analyst at Abt Associates, where he worked on projects in the fields of international education, human rights, and social justice.
Peter has developed a strong skillset through his academic and work experiences. At Teacher’s College, Peter gained in-depth knowledge and experience in topics such as the future of work, digital learning, and economic development, and developed his critical thinking, writing, and leadership skills. During his time at Columbia, he served as a consultant, providing detail-oriented support to dozens of students with university and scholarship applications, increasing their professional development, career planning, and relationship building competencies. Prior to this, he served as a peer advisor at Brown, also focusing on supporting students in their academic and career goals.
At InGenius Prep, Peter draws upon his advising experience and his strong educational foundation to assist students in the college prep process. He enjoys helping students identify their passions and provides strategies for them to develop their profiles accordingly. Highly skilled at essay editing, he prides himself in providing clear and applicable feedback that leads to compelling applications.
