Robert Owen Pinn, or Rob, is a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep based in DC. His professional journey centered on graduate admissions, talent development, and coaching and mentorship. He received his M.A. in International Relations, with a concentration in U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security, from American University’s School of International Service in DC. He earned his B.A. in German and European Studies with Dutch from the University of Nottingham (UK), and completed an EU-funded Erasmus semester in International Relations at KU Leuven in Belgium.
Rob’s professional experience includes serving on the MBA admissions evaluation team at Stanford University Graduate School of Business (GSB), where he reviewed over 500 MBA applications across various sectors. He previously led as Director of Admissions for the Security Studies Program (SSP) at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (SFS), managing the full recruitment cycle, allocating a $2.6M+ scholarship budget, and generating over $40M in revenue. He also trained 25+ application readers.
In addition to his university roles, Rob has worked at the industry level as a Market Development Manager for the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), managing partnerships with leading business schools. As a European-American, he brings a cross-cultural lens to his coaching, preparing candidates pursuing graduate study in both the United States and Europe.
Rob has supported candidates who have been admitted to top programs including NYU, Vanderbilt, Georgetown University, and Johns Hopkins. Additionally, he has experience coaching IELTS and providing guidance on standardized tests for business school. He also developed and facilitated one-on-one coaching to empower ESL professionals in effective communication.
