Hello! I am a Graduate Coach at InGenius Prep. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a minor in Music Industry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Even before I graduated, I gained experience advising and mentoring Chinese secondary school students in the entire college application process to Top 30 universities in the U.S. As a bilingual Chinese American and global citizen, I can easily empathize with others from different cultural backgrounds. I later pursued a professional master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) with a concentration in Education and Finance Policy at Cornell University.
While at Cornell, my passion for education and public service has led me to conduct research on education policy in the U.S. and China, collaborate with peers to consult for a Native American Scholarship Foundation, handle the Student Body budget to meet students’ needs, and lead the strategic communications of Cornell Women in Public Policy. For my Capstone Project, I co-wrote and edited a professional report used by the Cornell Southeast Asia Program to implement into their outreach plans, with the ultimate goal of improving on-campus student outcomes.
My teaching experience ranges from admissions consulting to singing and piano. As a former UCLA Daily Bruin school newspaper Arts & Entertainment Reporter, I honed my strong writing and interviewing skills, and I enjoy teaching these skills to my students.
In my free time, I sing songs in multiple languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and Hindi to be exact)! You can also find me learning a new dance choreography, producing a YouTube video, and volunteering at a local nonprofit.
