I am Saria Canady, a writing instructor and Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep. I spent much of my career as a newspaper journalist before my passion for “storytelling with a purpose” led me to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in writing with a concentration in creative nonfiction. Since completing my MFA, I have helped students of all ages to express themselves creatively and effectively through writing. I have taught academic research and writing, creative writing, business writing and English/Language Arts.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Cultural Studies at George Mason University, where I also support undergraduate business majors in Writing-Intensive courses. My doctoral research interests include narrative theory, media studies, women’s literature and intersectionality.
Outside of work and formal study, I enjoy learning about herbs and herbal remedies, trying new plant-based recipes, and repurposing glass containers to make candles.
