After attending high school in Northern Virginia, I received my B.A. in Creative Writing and English Literature from George Mason University in 2016, where I received the Stadler fellowship for younger poets in my senior year. After obtaining my undergraduate degree, I received a Master’s in English Literature from Yale, where I received the Academy of American Poets Prize and the Albert Stanborough Cook Prize While I was at Yale, I focused on contemporary poetry and studies in sound and voice.
In my time at Yale, I received training to teach at the undergraduate level in English for both literature and writing classes. I most enjoyed helping students hone their voices and sharpen their writing skills, while also learned about students’ interests through their writing. I loved working with them to bring the most unique aspects of their experiences to life on the page.
In my free time I read a variety of genres, write poetry, exercise by chasing frisbees or basketballs, and listen to lots of music. I look forward to being your counselor and learning about your interests and future goals!
