Isabella Posey is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep and a current PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University. Her research focuses on the interplay of sex-specific culture methods and microphysiological systems for better preclinical testing models. She previously received her BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and her MEng in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University.
During her academic career, Isabella held various leadership roles, including heading community service subsections of the Engineering Student Council and Inter-Sorority Council. She also served as Co-President of the graduate chapter of the Society of Women Engineers at Cornell. Her service initiatives included volunteering at the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center and a 24-hour crisis hotline.
After her MEng program, Isabella spent two years as a consultant for Acsel Health, a life sciences and pharmaceutical consulting firm. In this role, she worked on projects related to pharmaceutical pricing, global rollout strategy, and specialty pharmacy network design, gaining insight into the later stages of R&D and drug commercialization.
In addition to her research, Isabella has served as a Teaching Assistant at Tulane, helping undergraduate students prepare for graduate school, internship, and job applications. As a Graduate Coach, she enjoys mentoring students on their professional development and academic applications, focusing on creating unique narratives and putting their best foot forward. Isabella has experience working with a wide range of students, from high schoolers to early career professionals.
