Shannon Richardson is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in California. Shannon is pursuing her MD at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She obtained her BS in Human Biology with a minor in Global Health from Stanford University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. While at Stanford, she competed on the Division I varsity beach volleyball team all four years. After completing her undergraduate degree, Shannon stayed at Stanford to earn an MS in Epidemiology and Clinical Research before moving south for medical school.
At Stanford, Shannon served as Executive Director of a non-profit that aimed to provide clinical experiences and mentorship to students interested in medicine. She also created a mentorship course that taught pre-medical students about the application cycle and helped them navigate how to be competitive applicants while finding their passion within medicine.
Since starting medical school at UCLA, Shannon has spent most of her time doing surgical outcomes research, tutoring medical students in both anatomy and the pre-clinical curriculum, and mentoring students through their medical school applications. Shannon is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians. Thus, she aspires to pursue a career in academic medicine, where she can balance these interests with her love for research and clinical practice.
