Jialiang “Rachel” Wang is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep currently pursuing her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. She holds a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
Before her doctoral studies, Rachel worked as a researcher at Cornell, focusing on lipid nanoparticles, mRNA delivery, vaccines, and cancer immunotherapy. Her research has been published in leading journals, including Nature Biomedical Engineering, Science Advances, and Angewandte Chemie, and she has presented her work to interdisciplinary audiences. Throughout her academic career, she has mentored undergraduate, master’s, and high school students in research and graduate school preparation.
Having studied at multiple institutions and navigated the transition from undergraduate study to a master’s program and then to a PhD, Rachel understands the challenges students face when selecting programs and presenting their experiences effectively. As a Graduate Coach, she takes an individualized, practical approach to counseling, helping students clarify a convincing story about their interests and future direction.
