Lexi Raikes is a Graduate Coach at InGenius Prep and a J.D. candidate at Yale Law School, expected June 2027, with a deep commitment to public-interest law and civil rights. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisville with a B.A. in English, French, and Political Science, and was named a 2021 Truman Scholar, a national public-service fellowship awarded to 62 students nationwide, as well as a 2022 David L. Boren Scholar.
At Yale, Lexi’s work has spanned constitutional law, criminal justice reform, and veterans’ rights. She has represented a veteran in a discharge-upgrade claim through Yale’s Veterans Legal Services Clinic, testified at a U.S. House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs roundtable, and worked as a Summer Associate at WilmerHale and a Summer Intern with the ACLU’s Criminal Law Reform Project. She has also served as a research assistant to Yale Law School Dean Cristina Rodríguez and as a teaching assistant for a Torts course of more than 100 students. Across her academic and professional experiences, Lexi has remained focused on using the law to challenge systemic inequities, strengthen democratic institutions, and expand access to justice.
Lexi has extensive experience helping students navigate college admissions and competitive scholarship opportunities. She works closely with students to identify their genuine interests, strengths, and experiences and then translate those qualities into a compelling and authentic application. Rather than encouraging students to fit a particular mold, she helps them uncover the stories and ideas that are uniquely their own, so that their applications resonate with admissions officers.
As a Graduate Coach, Lexi’s goal is to make the college application process feel less overwhelming and more empowering. By helping students understand what makes them distinctive and giving them the tools to communicate it effectively, she helps each student build an application that feels their own and positions them to pursue the opportunities that are meaningful to them.
