BA, University of Chicago

Hi there! My name is Caitlin and I am a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in Seoul, South Korea. After successfully being admitted to the competitive Sutton Trust US Programme in my native Great Britain, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, with a minor in East Asian Languages and Civilisations, from the University of Chicago, and was a member of the Dean’s List for Academic Honors and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

During my time at the University of Chicago, I worked with several British students applying to US Universities through the Sutton Trust US Programme. I edited essays, conducted mock interviews and guided students in finding the programs and institutions that suited them the best. I also volunteered with ENoK, a tutoring organization helping refugees gain college or high school degrees. I volunteered with ENoK for four years, and became the President in my senior year, coordinating over 50 volunteers, executing awareness events and mentoring the refugee students during their own college admission processes. I discovered how much I enjoy teaching and mentorship, as well as working with students to find the best fit for their educational needs. The success of students from the ENoK program spurred me on to continue work with university admissions.

Outside of tutoring, I also worked as an Assistant Chair in the ChoMUN Model United Nations conference, covering the 1960’s Black Wave Cinema movement of Yugoslavia. I have also participated in a number of dance organizations on campus, performing in genres including modern, K-Pop and Chinese Traditional. I also enjoyed my role teaching choreography to my fellow club members and embraced the challenge of managing a large dance group, ensuring everyone is at ease with the routine. I relish the opportunity to work with a wide range of students as well as helping build their confidence in themselves and their academic abilities throughout the admissions process.

In my spare time, I love to dance, travel, cook, learn foreign languages, and watch soccer - you’ll be sure to find me bemoaning Arsenal’s latest defeat!
