Adesuwa Agbonile is a Graduate Coach who pairs an MFA in Fiction from New York University, earned with support from a Goldwater Fellowship, with a BA in Economics and a minor in Creative Writing from Stanford University. Before joining InGenius Prep, she guided students to acceptances at Princeton University, Rice University, the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University, Cornell University, the University of Washington, and Yale University.
She brings a working writer’s eye to the college essay. Adesuwa is the creator and host of the Audible Original podcast Backlash, a Kimbilio Fiction Fellow, and a 2026 Anthony Veasna So Scholar in Fiction, credentials earned through the same attention to craft and narrative that she brings to a student’s essay.
Based in Brooklyn, New York, Adesuwa believes a strong personal statement works the same way good fiction does: through specificity, voice, and a clear sense of what’s at stake, and she pushes students to write to that standard rather than settle for a generic personal statement.
