Hi! My name is Agnes and I am a first-year medical student at Eastern Virginia Medical School. I grew up in Northern Virginia and completed my undergraduate degree at Cornell University, majoring in Human Biology, Health, and Society. Upon graduating, I spent a few years exploring the role of physicians in different fields of healthcare. I worked at Massachusetts General Hospital for two years, conducting academic research and helping with program building. I then moved to NYC where I spent one year working in the healthcare technology industry, learning about the intersection between medicine, business, and technology. All of my experiences have now led me back to medical school.
At EVMS, I am highly involved in the admissions process. As an MD Admissions Ambassador, I work with EVMS’ admissions committee to review applications and help conduct interviews, tours, and information sessions for prospective students. I am also a school Student Ambassador and I am involved in our student-run free clinic.
Over the last few years, I have worked with several students, tutoring in a broad range of disciplines, including algebra, chemistry, English, SAT prep. I have also advised family and friends with undergraduate and graduate school applications, editing personal statements and assisting with interview prep. I am passionate about mentoring students as I know that I would not be where I am now without the help of others before me! I know the medical school application process can be overwhelming. I look forward to helping students convey their passions and unique characteristics to the admissions committees while supporting them through this daunting process.
Outside of school, I love to spend my time running, boxing, baking, crocheting, and cuddling my cat. I am excited to work together with students and help them find their best-fit school!
