Alexander Forlenza is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep and a JD candidate at New York University School of Law, where he serves as Co-Chair of I-Prep, a student organization focused on admissions preparation, and as a board member of Law and Political Economy. He brings a rigorous academic foundation across economics, applied mathematics, and political science — earned through a triple concentration at Johns Hopkins University with General Honors — alongside formal, sustained experience mentoring students through the college application process. He specializes in working with students interested in economics, law, political science, and the social sciences.
Alexander’s commitment to student mentoring is structured and long-standing. As an Advising Fellow with Matriculate, he mentored high school students through the full college application process, focusing on essay development, drafting, and revision, with every student coming from a low-income or otherwise disadvantaged background. That experience gave him a practiced, disciplined approach to helping students articulate their stories and present their strongest selves on paper. He extended that commitment to admissions work at NYU, where his role as Co-Chair of I-Prep reflects a continued investment in helping others navigate competitive academic pathways.
His research and legal credentials are equally strong. As a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at Columbia University, he analyzed online labor organizing movements and established causal links between digital organizing and union outcomes, with a focus on the Starbucks unionization campaign, while also contributing to labor market experiments examining non-compete agreements. In his legal work, he has served as a Poritz Public Interest Fellow at Northeast New Jersey Legal Services, supporting victims of consumer fraud and identity theft, and as a Legal Intern with the Center for Popular Democracy in New Orleans, preparing affidavits for administrative hearings and enforcing OSHA-related contract provisions on behalf of Dollar Store workers.
