Ana-Maria Piso-Grigore is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep who is also a independent scientist and researcher. She has over 15 years of experience applying data science and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to astrophysics and technology problems. She holds two bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Math from M.I.T. and a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Harvard University. Her doctoral research focused on theoretical studies and modeling of extrasolar planet compositions.
Following her Ph.D., she held postdoctoral positions at UCLA and CSUN, continuing her exoplanet research while also developing a keen interest in AI and data science, completing a 6-month data scientist internship at a medical device company.
In 2019, Ana-Maria transitioned to the private space sector in Romania, working as a Project Manager and Science Data Processing Engineer. There, she managed internal activities for upgrading Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) tools using AI capabilities and led business development for exoplanet data processing solutions using AI.
She currently serves as Head of Research & Development at a U.S.-based MedTech company, where she leads multiple product development initiatives and drives innovation through AI-enabled technologies for digital health platforms. She has four peer-reviewed publications in the Astrophysical Journal as lead author, with over 300 citations.
