Annabel Baniak is a Graduate Coach at InGenius Prep who brings a rare mix of technical depth and genuine warmth to every student she works with.
Annabel spent five years on Cornell’s teaching staff, including four semesters as Head Teaching Assistant for a 400-student course, where she led a team of more than 50 TAs, built grading rubrics, and kept the entire course on track, a role she was invited back to again and again. She went on to design training frameworks on fair and effective grading for Cornell’s College of Engineering, coaching new TAs in small groups. Alongside her teaching, Annabel tutors for the SAT remotely with Manhattan Review, including students joining from overseas, and her research background runs deep: a year spent developing machine learning models of language complexity grew into her Master’s thesis, and she also completed a competitive research fellowship in programming languages at the University of Pennsylvania.
As a Graduate Coach, Annabel connects with students as a peer, drawing on her own wide-ranging academic interests, from computer science and mathematics to English and archeology, to make complex material feel approachable. She has some French and Italian in addition to English. In her downtime, she enjoys theatre and reading, interests she has kept alive even through a demanding technical course load.
