Haben Gebrewahed is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep. As a professional in education and admissions consulting, Haben brings his expertise and insight into the college admissions process to his coaching role with InGenius Prep. After graduating from Yale with a Bachelor’s in Economics, where he excelled in athletics and got his start in application counseling, Haben has spent six years in education consultancy—guiding countless students toward acceptance into Ivy League schools. Haben brings his passion for education to his coaching role, steering his students to acceptance at their dream schools.
During his time at Yale, Haben served as an Application Reader for the Yale Young Global Scholars summer program. Since then, Haben co-founded a pioneering educational consultancy in Ethiopia, empowering sub-Saharan African youth. His work with over 120 students resulted in successful admissions to prestigious institutions like Dartmouth, Columbia, and Cornell and unlocking over $1.5M in scholarships and financial aid for students. Haben has continued his admissions consulting, working at renowned global consultancies, and mentoring more than 80 students from 12+ countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His proudest achievements include guiding students to acceptance at Yale, UC Berkeley MET, UPenn, Princeton, and Georgia Tech, among other top US schools.
As a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, Haben specializes in working with STEM and social science students, creating unique, personalized experiences, and helping students craft standout profiles in the competitive admissions landscape. With his blend of technical expertise, dedication, and passion for mentorship, Haben is prepared to give comprehensive support and structure to his students—directing them toward their best educational and career opportunities.
