Hasan Butt is a Graduate Coach and a fifth-year medical student at University College London, with over eight years of 1-on-1 tutoring and admissions mentoring experience. Having navigated the competitive UK medical application process himself, he specialises in guiding UK and international applicants into medicine, dentistry, and STEM programmes.
Hasan has tutored privately since 2017, working with students from age five through university with a primary focus on medicine, dentistry, and STEM applicants. He helps them build compelling academic profiles, advising on extracurricular projects, research and networking opportunities, and academic planning, and he edits personal statements and essays with detailed feedback that helps students articulate their motivations while building independent writing skills. Alongside his studies he works as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at a London primary school, including a year based in its autism resource provision supporting children with additional needs, and he has worked as an NHS phlebotomist and co-led Project SHIFA, teaching first aid to over 200 people across six community centres in London.
Hasan came through the UK system at the top of it. He earned five A*s at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, and Mathematics with an EPQ at the London Academy of Excellence, where he was House Captain and a Scholar, and his GCSE results were the highest in his school’s history. He completed an intercalated BSc in Immunology, Infection, and Cell Pathology at UCL.
As a Graduate Coach, his clinical and teaching background gives his mentoring a detail-driven, patient-centred character, and he enjoys helping students show their strengths and find the programmes best aligned with their personal and career ambitions.
