Jerry Hsu is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in Los Angeles, California. Jerry grew up in Massachusetts and went on to receive his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Art from Yale University’s prestigious “Computing and the Arts” interdisciplinary program. At Yale, Jerry was involved in film production, the computer graphics lab, the Asian American Cultural Center, and the social enterprise club.
After graduating from Yale, Jerry went on to work in product management at various companies, including a marketing tech startup, an artificial intelligence lab at Walmart’s incubation arm, The New York Times, and Google. He most recently graduated from the Second City Film School, where he focused on comedic storytelling, and was honored with the Second City Writing Fellowship Award. His scripts have placed in multiple screenwriting competitions and fellowships, including a screening at Cannes Film Festival.
At InGenius Prep, Jerry is focused on guiding his students to discover their voice, deepen their passions, and reach their dreams. His interdisciplinary background paired with his finely-honed writing and editing skills make Jerry an excellent coach for high-achieving students of varying backgrounds and interests. Jerry brings his funny and caring personality, as well as his rich academic and industry backgrounds, to every team he works in.
