Julio Miranda Alban is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, based in Illinois. With a rich academic and professional background, Julio earned his PhD in Development, Regeneration, and Stem Cell Biology from the University of Chicago and a BSc in Genetics and Biotechnology from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Peru. Following his teaching and mentorship roles at the University of Chicago, Julio now applies his expertise to his counseling role, helping students gain admission into their top-choice school.
In his prior roles, Julio served as the Underrepresented Minorities (URM) Team Leader for the Graduate Recruitment Initiative Team (GRIT), a National Liaison for the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), and the Social Dance Chair for the Ballroom and Latin Dance Association (BLDA). He also contributed to the Admissions Committee of the Research Experience for Peruvian Undergraduates (REPU) Program, making key decisions on selecting students for research internships at prestigious institutions.
As a Graduate Coach, Julio is dedicated to helping students gain admission to top US schools. He believes in leveraging students’ unique experiences to highlight their candidacy as high-performing academics. Julio’s mentorship style is flexible and adaptable, focusing on personal growth and effective communication. Having guided many students into admission to top schools like Duke University and Dartmouth, Julio is ready to set his students up for admissions success.
