Nestor Bedoya is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in Illinois. As an anesthesiology resident at Northwestern Medical Center and a professional in medicine, Nestor brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as a Graduate Coach. He earned his BA in Chemistry from Brown University and later pursued an MS in Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he also completed his MD. With a background in clinical research and clinical trial management, Nestor brings valuable knowledge on the healthcare industry, which he now shares with students navigating toward career paths in health sciences.
Before medical school, Nestor gained hands-on experience as a Medical Scribe at Rhode Island Hospital, a Clinical Research Associate at Boston Biomedical, Inc., and a Clinical Trials Manager at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. His “non-traditional” journey to medical school has given him a unique perspective and empathy for students exploring alternative routes in healthcare and medicine. At Mount Sinai, Nestor served as president of the First Generation Scholars Program and advised Master’s students applying to medical school. Nestor has been able to support students in their pursuit of higher education as early as high school—especially for first-generation students.
As a Graduate Coach, Nestor believes in a tailored approach to each student’s needs. He helps students identify and build on their unique strengths, preparing them to stand out in the competitive application process. Nestor understands that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counseling, and his goal is to help students maximize their success by helping them identify and nourish qualities and attributes that will help them stand out during the application process. With his knowledge of the application process, Nestor brings a structured and supportive approach to help students get into their ideal programs.
