Valarie Lee is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep with an extensive academic background in communication science, English, creative writing, and business. She earned her BA in Communications with a minor in Film, Television, and Digital Media from UCLA, graduating cum laude with a 3.96 GPA, placing in the top 20% of her class, and receiving Dean’s Honors every academic term.
Valarie has supported students across all grade levels as a humanities and writing tutor, working in 1-on-1 sessions with 30+ K-12 students and providing critical, analytical feedback across 415+ essays in creative writing, research, and college applications. Her customized lesson plans and personalized learning strategies have helped students earn acceptances at schools including UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, the University of Chicago, NYU, and Boston University, among others.
Beyond her tutoring work, Valarie has built a versatile professional career across the entertainment, media, and marketing industries. She was selected for an invite-only externship at United Talent Agency, gaining firsthand insight into global client strategy, branding, talent marketing, and digital media distribution. She also served as a Talent Management and TV/Film Production Intern at Zero Gravity Management, where she evaluated feature film and TV pilot scripts weekly and supported a roster of 200+ clients. Most recently, she has worked as a Client Services Lead at GateMaker Community Marketing, managing influencer marketing programs for global beauty brands including Clinique, Tatcha, and Shiseido, and driving a $5M+ increase in Earned Media Value across her accounts.
Her investment in students extends beyond academics. As the director of an elite collegiate competitive dance team, Valarie led recruitment, training, and team development, giving her a deep understanding of how to support people through high-stakes, unfamiliar, and pressure-filled environments. Above all, she is passionate about helping students discover their unique strengths, understand their identity and goals, and step into their applications with confidence.
