Declan is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in the UK. As a recent graduate of Imperial College London with an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures, Declan has direct experience of navigating the UK’s admissions process. Prior to this, he received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and a BA in Physics/Pre-Engineering from Whitman College as part of the 3-2 Combined Plan program between the two universities.
Declan’s background includes advising incoming Mechanical Engineering students at Columbia through the MECE Mentorship Program and providing application guidance to students following the 3-2 program after him at multiple colleges including his alma mater Whitman. Additionally, as a Teaching Assistant in the Whitman College Physics department and a Course Assistant in the Columbia University Mechanical Engineering department, Declan worked directly with students to aid their learning in engineering and physics lab courses. Through these experiences he learned to tailor his approach to each student’s individual needs and create the environment that students need in order to best develop themselves.
Declan’s experience in higher education gives him unique insights about the college admissions process, positioning him perfectly to know the challenges and expectations that students are faced with, and to understand the diverse experiences and pathways offered to prospective students. As a Graduate Coach, Declan is committed to helping his students build strong applications and make the most of their potential, while finding the optimal approach to the application process for them.
