Jing Chen, Ph.D., is a Graduate Coach with a distinguished background in biology, teaching, and mentoring. She earned her BS in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Currently, she is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Genetics at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Jing’s passion for teaching and mentoring stems from her personal experience as an immigrant. With the support of her teachers and mentors, she overcame language barriers and achieved academic success, becoming the first in her family to attend college, earn a PhD, and pursue a scientific career. She has over 10 years of experience mentoring students at various levels, including high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. She has also founded and directed a biology curriculum, English-as-Second-Language students and provided SAT preparation to over 500 high school students.
As a Graduate Coach, Jing illuminates the graduate school application process, helping students craft outstanding essays and discover their values and goals. She is committed to personalized guidance, drawing on her extensive experience and teaching awards from UC Berkeley and Stanford University.
