Joel Aston is a Graduate Coach with a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals. He brings a wealth of experience from his own academic journey, including an MBiochem in Biochemistry from The University of Oxford. During his master’s year, he conducted research in Cardiac Metabolism in the Zaccola Lab, further solidifying his understanding of the field.
Throughout his time at university, Joel actively participated in various committees and campaigns, demonstrating his commitment to student advocacy and representation. He served as a JCC representative in the Biochemistry Department, a Welfare officer and Equalities rep for St Hilda’s College, and a student advocate for the central university. His involvement in these roles provided him with valuable insights into the university’s structure and admissions processes.
Joel’s passion for supporting students extends beyond his university involvement. He has worked as a tutor for the past five years, helping students from diverse backgrounds enhance their knowledge and achieve their academic aspirations. Additionally, he has served as a mentor for IntoUniversity, a charity that assists students from disadvantaged backgrounds in accessing higher education. These experiences have equipped him with exceptional listening, educational, and mentoring skills, which he leverages to guide prospective students in their university applications.
