Julia Dixon is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep and also an experienced educator, curriculum developer, and college admissions advisor with a passion for helping students discover their interests and dream schools. She holds an MA in History from Vanderbilt University, where she was recognized as a Russell G. Hamilton Scholar and contributed to the Builders and Defenders Project as a research assistant. Julia earned her BA in American Studies from Yale University, where she was honored with the John Spangler Nicholas Award and served as a First-Year Counselor and Head of College Aid.
Julia’s academic and professional journey spans a wide range of educational environments. At Vanderbilt, she developed standards-based history curriculum for grades 6–12 and coordinated academic programming as an events leader for the Graduate Historical Association. At Yale, she mentored both domestic and international students, advised first-year cohorts, and facilitated academic and cultural events as a peer liaison at the Afro-American Cultural Center.
Her commitment to student advising is evident in her work as an independent writing coach and college admissions consultant, where she has guided dozens of high school and undergraduate students in crafting compelling applications and essays. Julia’s expertise also extends to restorative justice and equity initiatives, having led schoolwide programs and staff training as Head of Restorative Justice at Kairos Academies. Julia’s leadership is further demonstrated through her role with the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America, where she mentored high-achieving students through the college admissions process.
Known for her flexible, student-centered approach, Julia adapts her guidance to the unique needs and aspirations of each student she supports. As a Graduate Coach, she is dedicated to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments and empowering students from all backgrounds to achieve their academic and personal goals.
