Kenneth Mai is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep based in Washington state. Kenneth holds a BA in Linguistics from Harvard University, as well as an MA in Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education. As an undergrad at Harvard, he worked as a writing tutor at the Harvard Writing Center and as a research assistant in a linguistics lab. At the same time, he volunteered with Harvard’s Chinatown ESL/Citizenship program, where he was able to use his Cantonese and Mandarin language abilities to teach English and civics to adult learners.
After graduating from college, Kenneth spent a year in Taiwan as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and was paired with a local English teacher. Upon returning to the States, Kenneth has been working in K-12 education as a teacher and administrator in New York, Massachusetts, and now Washington state, working primarily to support students, including those with disabilities and multilingual learners.
Kenneth brings to InGenius Prep his experience working with learners of all ages and his curiosity around languages and cultures. He utilizes his background in English and teaching to support students through the application process, excelling at essay editing. Kenneth is dedicated to meeting every student where they are and to bring out their potential so they can ultimately achieve a life of success and independence.
