Hi there! My name is Lindsey, and I am a Bilingual Counselor at InGenius Prep. After studying in China for my undergrad, I attended Teachers College, Columbia University and graduated with an M.A. in Bilingual/Bicultural Education.
I discovered my passion for education when I was a sophomore in college and have been devoting myself to the field ever since. From supporting traumatized kids in Beichuan (who survived the 2008 Sichuan earthquake) to teaching students from different cultures in New York, from helping high school students in China, America and Canada to tutoring undergrads in IELTS, I’ve worked with more than 200 students in the past 6 years. Throughout these experiences, I was inspired by my work and have developed a holistic understanding of the international education system and college application process.
While at Columbia, my experience also broadened to event planning and fundraising when I served as the co-president of the 2018 Future China Education Forum. I also interned at Asia Society to help organize a number of U.S.-China Dialogue events, including the first Young Green Tech Entrepreneurs Program. I have been fascinated by international education and have been immersing myself in cross-culture communication every chance I get.
I am passionate about developing close relationships with my students and helping them achieve their goals. Outside of work, I love travel planning, exploring new restaurants and practicing calligraphy! However, my favorite part is to find new hobbies and to learn new skills! (P.S. I’ve recently started to enjoy working out and making crafts!
