Matthew Parsons is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep with a strong background in medicine, research, and pharmacology. He graduated from Imperial College London in 2021 with an MBBS (Medical Doctor) and a First Class Honours degree in Management. He has spent the last four years working in NHS hospitals in the south of England, gaining experience in surgery, internal medicine, and intensive care, with a primary focus on clinical pharmacology.
Matthew currently works in delivering early phase clinical trials, including first-time-in-man studies, collaborating with industry and charitable organizations to develop new medicines in areas like vaccines, psychiatry, and oncology. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Clinical Pharmacology at King’s College London part-time, aiming to leverage his experience to lead and design his own clinical studies.
He is highly involved in academia and ethics, having authored multiple scientific articles and serving as an expert member of both an NHS Research Ethics Committee and a University Ethics Committee. He has also successfully supervised and mentored six undergraduate students through their BSc dissertations, with one student receiving the highest scoring dissertation prize. Matthew has extensive experience teaching medical students and has served on a medical school interview panel.
