Melanie Lachance is a Former Admissions Officer and a high school counselor with over 20 years of experience across public, private, and charter school settings. She holds a Master of Education in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kenyon College.
Her experience in college admissions began at Kenyon College, where she served as a Senior Interviewer for prospective students. This led to her first professional role as an Admission Counselor at Wittenberg University.
After moving to North Carolina, Melanie served as a College Counselor at Raleigh Charter High School and later at Saint Mary’s School. During a sabbatical, she remained connected to the field by serving as an Admissions Reader for Duke University.
As a Former Admissions Officer, these varied roles have provided her with a comprehensive perspective on both sides of the college admissions process and a deep understanding of how to help students identify and pursue their best-fit educational paths.
