Sydney Caldwell is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, specializing in college and graduate school admissions with a STEM focus. She is currently a PhD student in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program at Harvard Medical School, where she studies the evolution of the immune system. Prior to this, she graduated from the University of Vermont with a BS in Molecular Genetics and previously worked as a research technician at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Sydney brings a unique perspective to admissions through her own nontraditional path into science. Growing up in a family of commercial fishermen, she developed her career through curiosity, self-directed learning, and strong mentorship. Her journey from a pre-medical student to a PhD candidate gives her unique insights into the challenges students face when navigating their career path.
Sydney has extensive experience supporting students through highly competitive admissions processes. During her own PhD application cycle, she earned acceptances to Stanford, Yale, UC San Diego, and the University of Washington. She has since mentored applicants who have gone on to gain admission into top-ranked PhD programs. As a Graduate Coach, Sydney is passionate about helping applicants tell their unique stories in a meaningful way and accomplish all that they are passionate about.
