Hello! My name is Teresa. I am a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, based in New Haven, Connecticut where I am pursuing my Masters degree in Archaeological Studies at Yale.
I grew up in Shenyang, Northeastern China, and received my undergraduate degree from UCLA, where I registered as a volunteer with the Community Service Clubs. In the past four years, I have been offering one-on-one academic tutoring and personal mentorship for middle school students in underserved communities to tackle the education gap in the L.A. area. I am also an art workshop instructor with CoachArt. Through the activities, we use different art mediums to help families impacted by childhood chronic illnesses better connect with art and nature.
Outside mentorship service, I have also worked and volunteered in many museum institutions such as the Getty Center. Starting as a pre-art conservation student, my training in chemistry, studio art, and art history has built on my understanding of different disciplines. As someone who has been switching between career trajectories and finally committed to archaeology, I hope to use my previous experiences to help more students find the path that fits them the best at InGenius.
