Wesley Mills is the Assistant Director of Enrollment with InGenius Prep based in Connecticut. He holds a dual BA in Cinema & Media Studies with Honors and English Language & Literature with Honors, as well as a MA in the Humanities with a concentration in Cinema and Media Studies—both from The University of Chicago. Afterward, Wes went on to serve as a Senior Admissions Counselor for UChicago. Now, he brings his years of insider knowledge to his role at InGenius Prep, helping students perfect their college applications.
Throughout his tenure at UChicago, Wes evaluated over 1500 applications and served on the admissions committee. Wes has since served in numerous other admissions counseling roles, mentoring students as young as 13 years old and building their student profiles for college. From interview prep to essay editing, school research, extracurricular enhancement, and resume building, Wes has worked with students, both domestic and international, and guided many toward college acceptance.
In his counseling role, Wes takes a personal approach to developing the strengths of his students. He understands the power of a moving story and how it can impact admissions committees. His favorite part of the counseling process is collaborating closely with students to develop and refine their personal narratives—an often overlooked yet impactful aspect of the admissions process. With his expertise and dedication to student empowerment, Wes is prepared to help his mentees find and develop their stories throughout their educational journey.
