Zak Marcone is a Graduate Coach with InGenius Prep, based in Hong Kong. Zak is an incoming JD candidate at Stanford Law School (Fall 2024) who grew up all over the United States, but spent most of his childhood in Long Island, NY.
As a high school student, Zak scored a perfect 5 on 15 Advanced Placement exams. He was also heavily involved in different scholarship and science research programs including the Intel Science Talent Search (now Regeneron), the Coca Cola Scholars Program, the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), and others. It was around this time that he began working in college admissions prep by helping students study for the SAT, ACT, and other college entrance exams.
As an undergraduate at Columbia University, Zak expanded beyond exam prep and began helping students through the entire admissions process. Over the past 6 years, Zak has worked with students from all over China, Indonesia, the United States, and other countries get into their dream schools. Zak has personally been accepted to or has helped students get accepted to Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, UC Berkeley, NYU, UChicago, UCLA, Northwestern, USC, and more.
After graduating summa cum laude from Columbia with a BA in Economics, Zak completed an MA in law at the Yenching Academy of Peking University in Beijing, China. He then worked full time as an associate at one of Hong Kong’s top college prep companies for one year before working as a Fulbright Scholar in Uganda. Most recently, Zak was a member of the research faculty at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
At InGenius Prep, Zak especially enjoys helping students craft the perfect essay that draws on their particular strengths and interests, and he believes every student deserves personalized assistance and attention.
