Frequently Asked Questions About Yale

When are Yale applications due?

There are two application deadlines for students in their senior years: Early Action on November 1st and Regular Decision in early January.

There are two admissions decision periods: Single Choice Early Action and Regular. Early Action decisions are announced in mid-December and April 1st for Regular Decisions. Applicants can expect to receive an offer of admission between those dates.

All interviews are assigned as determined by alumni availability and are as randomized as possible.

Current available numbers indicate that just over 12,000 students of undergraduate, graduate, or professional levels are in attendance, and at least 30% are international students.

For students applying for college, Former Yale president Kingman Brewster has spoken to the question directly: “We have to make the hunchy judgment as to whether or not with Yale’s help the candidate is likely to be a leader in whatever he ends up doing.”[8] Yale is looking for passion, leadership, academic excellence, rich character, and intellectual curiosity. These are the ideal traits for an incoming student.

Yale has a global reputation that precedes itself at every encounter. The consistent and proven impression is one of prestige, history, influence, and excellence.
