BA, Government and Spanish, Wesleyan University

Greetings! I am a Former Admissions Officer with InGenius Prep. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Government and Spanish Literature at Wesleyan University (CT) and then my Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration at Boston College. I served as an admission professional for two years at Yale College and 8 years at Boston College Law School. After a successful decade in admissions, I transitioned to another career in the field of higher education.

I served as an academic advisor at Northeastern University for 6 years. At Northeastern, I advised students in the University Honors Program, the Bouvé College of Health Sciences, and the College of Engineering. I appreciate engaging with students and their families. I have visited various high schools, colleges, and universities around the continental United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. I have evaluated thousands of admissions applications and worked with thousands of university students.

My approach to advising is developmental and holistic. I am dedicated to coaching and mentoring students. I genuinely believe in reinforcing and enhancing my students' unique talents, perspectives, and experiences. I also work diligently to seek resources for my students and encourage students to become their own best advocates. As Assistant Director of the Northeastern University Honors Program, I served as a development academic advisor and as leader on my team. I assisted with developing and overseeing programs for high achieving students, including research opportunities, co- and extra-curricular programming, and scholarships. I established the Northeastern Honors Alumni Initiative, creating alumni engagement programming. I also designed and managed the University Honors Program Alumni Mentoring Network, which connects students with alumni mentors.

Beyond the great work I pursue at InGenius Prep, I volunteer my time to civic engagement. I am deeply committed to serving humanity and advocating for justice. I work tirelessly to uphold the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. I am empathetic, a good listener and exuberant communicator. I am proud of my Puerto Rican heritage, my upbringing in the Bronx (NY), my bilingualism, and professional sports teams representing New York City!
